Job summary

HelloFresh in Derby is looking for a Reliability Engineer to act as the site SME for controls, maintenance, sensors and automation. You will collaborate with facilities to sustain uptime and improve system reliability, handling automation and robotics across conveyors and control panels.

Qualifications

• Qualified or solid practical understanding in Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Experience in Automation, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in PLC-controlled systems, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs.
• Able to interpret manuals, drawings, and schematics for diagnostics.
• Strong CMMS experience and second-line escalation handling.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, fault find and repair systems to ensure high equipment availability.
• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on automation, robotics and control panels.
• Troubleshoot out-of-service equipment and escalate to leadership/vendors as needed.
• Document all work in CMMS and ticketing systems.
• Mentor maintenance personnel in automation, controls and robotics.
• Lead root cause analysis of major downtime events.
• Act as network resource for technical issues and lead network-wide RCAs.
• Develop knowledge on automation, controls and robotics for maintenance staff.
• Partner with engineering on commissioning of new controls systems.
• Audit vendor work for quality and SLA performance.
• Write/modify PMs to standardize across the network.
