Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a dynamic Project Director to lead planning and execution of large-scale automation projects at customer sites. You will manage a portfolio of $250M+ and a team of project managers, delivering on time, on budget, and with safety and quality as top priorities.

You will build and scale the delivery organization, drive standardization across programs, and serve as the single point of accountability for your portfolio, partnering with customers and cross-functional leaders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, supply chain, business administration, or related field; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of project/program management experience in large-scale cross-functional environments.
• 5+ years of direct people leadership experience building project management teams.
• Ownership of programs over $200M with multiple complex projects.
• Experience delivering large capital projects in matrixed, customer-facing environments.
• PMP preferred; Lean/continuous improvement a plus.
• Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Smartsheet, Jira, Teamcenter preferred.
• Collaborative, motivational leadership style in fast-paced settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of project managers executing complex automation programs.
• Build and scale the organization as demand grows (hiring, onboarding, development).
• Oversee delivery: scope, schedule, budget, risk, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Primary escalation point for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization with PMO.
• Anticipate risks and drive proactive action plans to stay on track.
• Provide weekly progress updates to Symbotic leadership and customer executives.
• Ensure compliance with project delivery standards and best practices.
• Foster accountability, transparency, and growth within the team.
