Job summary

Thermo Systems in Chicago, IL seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead complex automation and control system integration projects from proposal through commissioning and closeout. You will ensure scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety while navigating elevated technical and commercial risk.

This senior customer-facing role uses Thermo Systems’ stage-gate delivery model to drive predictable outcomes and collaborate with engineering, procurement, fabrication, software, and field services teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or related field.
• 8+ years managing complex industrial, engineering, automation, or systems integration projects.
• Experience leading multi-discipline projects with engineering, field execution, and commissioning.
• PMP certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex automation and control system integration projects from proposal through closeout.
• Develop integrated project execution plans, schedules, and forecasts.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, fabrication, software, and field services.
• Manage project financial performance including forecasting accuracy, cost tracking, and change management.
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies to meet delivery objectives.
• Oversee subcontractor performance and scopes of work.
• Support installation, startup, commissioning, and system turnover.
• Ensure documentation and deliverables meet company standards.
• Drive disciplined project execution for predictable delivery outcomes.
