Principal Automation Engineer – Small Molecule will lead the DeltaV platform design and its integration with automation and MES, collaborating with partners to enable a scalable, GMP-ready facility as part of Lilly’s site startup. This site-based role reports to GPACE and requires strong leadership, project staging, and a focus on safety and qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years of Process Automation experience with Emerson DeltaV.
• 5+ years of API/Drug Substance manufacturing experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of the DeltaV platform and software integration teams.
• Manage one or more system integrators for DeltaV delivery.
• Collaborate with Tech@Lilly to deliver an integrated Automation/MES solution.
• Develop site automation capabilities and procedures.
• Provide engineering support for Process Safety Management (PSM) and PHRs.
• Support GMP manufacturing operations post-startup.
