Job summary

Dexcom Inc. in Mesa, AZ is seeking a hands‑on Automation Engineer to lead packaging and labeling equipment systems in a regulated medical device environment.

You will optimize PLC/HMI, machine vision, and data analytics to improve uptime, reliability, and throughput. You will drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, investigate chronic failures, and lead lifecycle improvements while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 5–8 years of related experience.
• Master’s degree with 2–5 years experience, or PhD with 0–2 years experience, may substitute.
• Experience in packaging/labeling or high‑volume production and regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting and continuous improvement of automated packaging, labeling, and distribution equipment.
• Develop preventive/predictive maintenance strategies to improve uptime and asset utilization.
• Own equipment reliability initiatives through root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Support PLC/HMI, motion control, and industrial networks to resolve production issues.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to drive throughput and quality.
