Job summary

ACE Partners in Bristol, TN seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to lead automation projects on-site and drive improvements across PLC, HMI, and control systems for manufacturing equipment. The role includes integrating new machinery, robotics, and advanced automation while coordinating with engineering teams to boost reliability and efficiency.

With 10+ years in manufacturing engineering, you will mentor staff, troubleshoot complex automation issues, and help plan capital projects, including

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
• Strong background in industrial automation, controls and capital projects.
• Hands-on programming and troubleshooting PLC and HMI systems.
• Experience with industrial robotics and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and develop electrical/control system documentation.
• Strong understanding of project execution, equipment integration and commissioning.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar engineering software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation and controls projects from design through installation and implementation.
• Develop and improve PLC, HMI and control systems across manufacturing equipment.
• Support the integration of new machinery, robotics and automated processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reliability and system performance.
• Work with engineering and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to engineers and plant personnel.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including opportunities to incorporate AI and advanced automation.
