Job summary

SAIC seeks a senior QA Automation Engineer in Ashburn, VA for a hybrid-remote role with 2 days on-site per week. You will design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts for Java-based software, encompassing backend, API, and UI testing across multiple environments.

Strong experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, SQL, and cloud testing is required. Ideal candidates have 9+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field, and proven collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Experience with Java development and automated testing.
• Experience with Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber for test automation.
• SQL queries and relational databases knowledge.
• Automation testing focusing on API testing with some UI testing.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS) and CI/CD workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute tests; create and implement automated test scripts for software functionality, security, and usability.
• Write detailed test plans and test cases; utilize test management tools.
• Report defects and collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and verify fixes.
• Collaborate with DevOps and development teams across the SDLC; participate in agile ceremonies.
• Maintain and improve automation frameworks and pipelines; support CI/CD processes.
• Identify defects and performance issues; generate Jira defect tickets and report discrepancies.
