Job summary

Covaris in Woburn, MA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead automation-focused design and integration for high‑volume consumables. You will drive ongoing support of automated manufacturing equipment, apply lean methods, and partner with R&D to optimize assembly, molding, and throughput.

Responsibilities include IQ/OQ/PQ, PFMEA, DOE, fixture design, PLC/HMI control schemes, and maintaining QSR/ISO13485 compliant documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Automation Engineering.
7+ years in manufacturing engineering with automation focus.
Hands-on experience with automated assembly equipment and robotics.
Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ, PFMEA and DOE workflows.
Familiarity with QSR/ISO13485 medical device environments.

Responsibilities

Design, specify, integrate and support automated manufacturing equipment for high-volume consumables.
Lead DFMA and design-for-automation with R&D to optimize parts for automation.
Provide hands-on support to production, troubleshoot lines, improve OEE and yield.
Write and execute IQ, OQ, PQ, validations, DOE and PFMEA.
Source automation tooling, design fixtures, and improve throughput and ergonomics.
Develop automation control schemes and PLC/HMI configurations.
Update manufacturing docs to meet QSRs and ISO13485 requirements.
Perform root-cause analysis and implement containment and corrective actions.
Apply lean methods to reduce waste and increase cell capacity.
Support NPI and transfer of new processes into production.
