Job summary

SMBC Group is seeking a senior hands-on automation engineer to design, build, review, and support enterprise automation using Ansible, with a focus on Ansible Automation Platform and network automation. The role reports to the Director of Automation Services and works with a team of automation engineers.

The ideal candidate has extensive Ansible content development experience, a strong networking background with Cisco, and knowledge of Linux, cloud, and security.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing enterprise automation with Ansible.
• Expert-level knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Strong networking background with Cisco technologies.
• Experience building reusable automation frameworks.
• Experience developing Ansible Collections, roles, playbooks, modules, and workflows.
• Strong understanding of Configuration as Code, source control, testing, and deployment practices.
• Ability to work effectively with engineers, architects, operations teams, and senior technology stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automation for enterprise networks with Cisco technologies.
• Design reusable frameworks for provisioning, configuration management, compliance, operational support, and lifecycle activities.
• Collaborate with network engineering and architecture teams to identify, assess, and prioritize automation opportunities.
• Apply deep networking knowledge to ensure automation solutions are technically correct and standards-compliant.
• Support the engineering, administration, operation, and continuous improvement of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Participate in upgrades, migrations, troubleshooting, incident response, capacity planning, and platform governance.
