Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced AVEVA PI specialist to lead deployment across global sites. You will architect and sustain the PI framework, enabling advanced analytics and reporting through PI AF and PI Vision.

You will drive integration with DeltaV, SCADA, and DCS, contribute to SDLC governance, and collaborate with IT/OT teams to meet manufacturing objectives and ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science/engineering or equivalent experience with 5+ years in automation.
• Strong background in AVEVA PI, PI AF, PI Vision, and integration with process control systems.
• Experience with validation, governance, and SDLC for automation systems.

AVEVA PI System Administration

Job description

• Oversee comprehensive deployment of the AVEVA PI system, including planning, configuration, validation, and rollout across international sites
• Architect, standardize, and sustain the PI system framework using PI AF and PI Vision
• Lead continuous development of the AVEVA PI ecosystem through new data sources, use cases, advanced analytics, and reporting
• Define and implement integration strategies between AVEVA PI and process control systems such as DeltaV, SCADA, and DCS
• Support governance and lifecycle management of automation platforms, global standards, and change management practices
• Participate in defining and improving SDLC processes for automation and data systems
• Collaborate with global MSAT and site automation teams on manufacturing platform objectives and automation strategies
• Ensure secure and reliable OT infrastructure connectivity between PI systems and process control environments
• Implement data governance and management standards
• Develop reporting, visualization, and analytics tools using AVEVA PI
• Support process control strategies including batch tracking, process limits, and predictive control approaches
• Provide technical guidance and support to global teams, resolving issues and ensuring system reliability and performance
• Collaborate with IT, OT, engineering, manufacturing, process engineering, data science, utilities, maintenance, quality assurance, and validation teams
• Develop technical documentation, specifications, SOPs, and training materials
• Author and execute IQ/OQ/PQ validation protocols and test scripts
• Lead or support root cause analyses, incident investigations, and troubleshooting
• Manage CAPAs and change controls with the site Manufacturing Technical Services team
• Serve on the New Product Introduction team, ensuring automation, PI data integration, and MES readiness
• Provide technical oversight for third-party system integrators and vendors
• Support manufacturing sites on process control, automation systems, and data infrastructure
• Monitor advancements in AVEVA PI, process control technologies, and OT systems to propose innovative solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Science or Engineering and 5 or more years of relevant experience; or Associate’s degree in science-related area and 8 or more years of relevant experience; or High school diploma or GED and 10 or more years of relevant experience
• Robust background in control system automation, including design, installation, programming, and validation of automated processes
• Strong expertise in AVEVA PI system architecture, configuration, and development, including PI AF, PI Vision, and integrations
• Experience integrating AVEVA PI with process control systems such as DeltaV, SCADA, or DCS platforms
• Knowledge of FDA CFR 21 Part 11 compliance requirements
• Proven track record of completing projects successfully using strong engineering and project management expertise
• Experience supporting or defining automation standards, governance, and change management in a global manufacturing environment
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices for automation systems
• Demonstrated proficiency in OT system architecture and industrial data infrastructure
• Prior experience with computer software validation
• Involvement in global teams or Centers of Excellence
• Experience applying GAMP5 risk-based methodologies for validated process automation system changes
• Participation in regulatory inspections or audit support
• Familiarity with single-use technologies and systems
• Experience with automation platforms such as DeltaV, Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Wonderware
• Certification in AVEVA PI System administration or development
• Knowledge of additional OT or IT systems used in industrial environments, such as SCADA, DCS, and MES
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles in OT environments
• Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to collaborate across diverse, cross-functional and global teams
