Job summary

Predicine is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer (Laboratory) to design, develop, and automate NGS workflows in a fast-paced environment.

You will translate manual steps to automated platforms, maintain instrument documentation, and support deployment with cross-functional teams. The role requires 3+ years in lab automation, strong programming for automation, and familiarity with Hamilton Venus software, plus experience with lab instruments like Agilent, Bio-Rad, and Thermo Fisher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology or related field.
• 3+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience.
• Strong experience programming and developing automated systems for assay development on Hamilton using Venus Software.
• Familiarity with lab automation tools and instrumentation (e.g., Agilent, Bio-Rad, ThermoFisher).
• Familiarity with barcoding, labware management, and traceability tools.
• Experience in process development and scaling in lab/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, and Operations.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with technology transfer and vendor management.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and configuration management.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Automation Engineer ( Laboratory) with expertise in Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing, optimizing, and automating workflows to advance our NGS capabilities. As an integral member of our team, you will work closely with cross-functional groups to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and precision of our sequencing technologies. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and implement automated liquid handling systems for NGS assays
• Translate and optimize manual processes onto automated platforms
• Provide training and technical support for operations during deployment of new methods
• Author and update SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and quality documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain and manage instrument configuration documentation (IQ/OQ/PQ and SOP).
• Complete quality documentation reports and ensure all regulatory and internal standards are met.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, Biology or related field.
• 3+ years of laboratory automation engineering experience required.
• Strong Experience in programming and developing automated systems for assay development on Hamilton using Venus Software, experience with scheduling software.
• Familiarity with lab automation tools, instrumentation (e.g., Agilent, Bio-Rad, Thermofisher), and software (e.g., BIOlims).

• Experience in process development and scaling in a laboratory and/or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Facilities, and Operations teams.
