Job summary

InterSystems is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join an agile Software Automation team focused on cloud-hosted CI systems development and support. You will design and implement automated testing tools for a robust healthcare platform and manage cloud/local resources with automated build/test environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software automation or related engineering roles.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript.
• Experience developing automation tools, frameworks, or scripts for end-to-end testing, deployment, build/release, and environment provisioning.
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation of build/test/deploy workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design reliable automation solutions.
• Willingness to learn new methodologies and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Contribute as a technical specialist in an agile Automation team focused on CI systems development and support.

We are hiring for a Senior Automation Engineer to work as a technical specialist in an agile Software Automation team with specific focus on cloud hosted continuous integration systems development and support. Work within a team of likeminded IT professionals to implement cutting edge solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

The duties initially assigned include, but are not limited to:

• Contribute as a technical specialist in a dedicated agile Automation team focused on development and support of continuous integration systems.
• Design and build testing tools dedicated to the automated validation of a robust healthcare system.
• Infrastructure management of cloud and locally hosted resources, including creation and maintenance of automated build and test environments.
• Provide support to cross functional agile development teams.
• Develop non-functional and structural testing strategies to validate application performance, security, and interoperability.
• Identify functional and non-functional issues in application from design through to validation.
• Other duties may be directed by the company from time to time.

Requirements

• 5+years professional experience in software automation, tooling, or related engineering roles.
• Proficiency in multiple programming and/or scripting languages. (e.g. Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, TypeScript).
• Experience developing automation tools, frameworks, or scripts for:
• End-to-end testing for web applications
• Software deployment
• Build and release processes
• Environment provisioning
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Good understanding of the SDLC and software testing principles.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation of build, test, and deployment workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to design reliable, reusable automation solutions.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to learning new methodology, technologies and softwareProducts.
• Experience responding to end-user requests and bug reports.

Preferred

• Experience with agentic AI development
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and automating cloud resources.
• Good understanding of Linux/Unix environments and basic system administration concepts.
• Proficiency with SQL and/or data structures.
• Experience in leading large-scale projects with departmental impact.

Education and Training

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

InterSystems is providing a current good faith estimate of the anticipated base salary range for this position depending on a variety of factors including experience, education, skills, and performance.

Other compensation may include a discretionary annual variable target incentive.

$92,000—$136,000 USD
