Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an instrumentation and controls engineer to design basic to moderately complex systems using 3D/4D practices. You will contribute to HMI/PID development, assist with testing, and oversee proposal efforts.

The role includes traveling 20%–40% and mentoring junior staff in a dynamic project environment. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of the degree.

Responsibilities

• Creates instrumentation and control system designs using 3D/4D design practices.
• Develops HMI graphics and PLC programming; assists with testing and startup.
• Reviews drawings and supports testing oversight; mentors junior staff.
• Develops P&IDs, control system architectures, specifications and descriptions.
• Supports proposals and marketing activities related to Automation strategy.
