Edgewater Automation in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Senior Controls Engineer to lead design of custom automation and precision machining systems for industries demanding high accuracy. You will design control systems, write software, review budgets, and coordinate with the build team to deliver production-ready machines.

The role requires 7+ years in controls engineering, AutoCAD design experience, and strong PLC/industrial networking knowledge. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of controls engineering experience in custom automation.
• Experience designing with AutoCAD is preferred (from job duties).
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, networks and vision systems.

Responsabilités

• Lead design efforts on assigned projects under Engineering Director.
• Prepare control system designs and drawings including power, PLC, panels and instrumentation.
• Write and document software for automation systems.
• Review budgets and schedules with Project Manager and determine costs and release dates.
• Coordinate with Controls Assembly during builds to ensure timely solutions.
• Mentor Level I/II Controls Engineers and provide training.
• Develop preliminary project schedules and debug after power-up to production-ready state.
• Participate in installation as a team member.
