Job summary
A leading automotive manufacturer is seeking a Senior Controls & Automation Engineer for their Montgomery, AL location. The successful candidate will manage and install automation systems, focusing on PLC programming, robotics, and HMI/SCADA configuration. This role involves overseeing the design, troubleshooting, and upgrade projects for control systems. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least five years of experience in the field. Strong knowledge of applicable regulations and automation standards is a must.
Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required.
- 5+ years of experience in PLC/HMI control systems design.
- Knowledge of OSHA, NEC and NFPA standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and install automation and controls systems design.
- Create panel designs, layouts and wiring schematics.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems on existing equipment.
- Provide programming support for equipment upgrade projects.
- Document software defects and troubleshooting tips.
