Job summary

Bestgate Engineering is seeking an Automated Test Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of a large system. The role works with a cross-functional Agile team to validate enhancements and support modernization of authoring and dissemination tools.

The candidate will develop robust automated test suites, in UI and API domains, using Cypress and TS/JS, within a government-focused tech environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a Test Engineer in test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated UI and API tests using Cypress.
• Proficiency with JavaScript and/or TypeScript for automated test script development.
• Experience testing modern web applications.
• Experience testing RESTful microservices and APIs.
• Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Practical experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Experience using Git and version control systems.
• Ability to independently design, develop, execute, maintain, and troubleshoot automated test suites.
• Experience analyzing test results, troubleshooting failures, documenting defects, and reporting testing metrics.
• Ability to collaborate with software developers, system engineers, product owners, and DevOps personnel.
• Ability to participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and demos, and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and bug fixes.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional TE or related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
• Shall have familiarity with test engineering or integration of modern hardware/software systems.
• Shall have familiarity with the development and integration of test strategies, plans, traceability matrices, procedures, and reports.
• Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/Poly

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for UI and API layers.
