Job summary

ADESA Birmingham, Moody shop, seeks a Mechanic Tech IV to perform major diagnostics and repairs on customer vehicles in a high‑production environment. You will diagnose, rebuild, and overhaul systems, ensuring contractual obligations are met; reporting to the Mechanic Shop or designated manager.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in automotive repair, ASE certifications preferred, and the ability to coach junior technicians.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• 5+ years of automotive repair experience preferred.
• ASE A-1 through A-8 preferred.
• Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Perform major diagnostics and repairs on customer vehicles.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and drivetrain systems and perform overhauls.
• Assist in leadership, development and training of other technicians.
• Maintain safety, quality, and productivity in a high‑volume shop.
