Job summary

Sedgwick in the United States is seeking an experienced Claims Examiner to investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex general liability claims, including high-exposure matters.

You will manage liability, settlements, reserves, and regulatory compliance, while maintaining excellent service to clients and claimants through collaborative vendor partnerships. A strong background in litigation coordination and cost containment is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of claims handling experience.
• Experience with complex general liability claims is preferred.
• Litigation management experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and manage complex or technically challenging general liability claims from inception through resolution.
• Conduct thorough investigations to determine liability, damages, and claim exposure.
• Develop and execute strategic claim action plans to drive timely outcomes.
• Assess liability and negotiate settlements within delegated authority.
• Calculate and maintain claim reserves throughout the life of the claim.
• Authorize and process claim payments within delegated authority.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and client requirements.
• Coordinate vendor referrals for investigations and litigation management.
• Maintain proactive communication with claimants, clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders.
