Job summary

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago is seeking an experienced member of the Internal Audit team to drive continuous audit improvement, deliver value-added recommendations, and strengthen the control environment.

You’ll lead risk-based audits from planning through reporting, collaborate with clients, develop data analytics tools, and ensure timely completion while adapting to evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of banking or financial services audit experience.
• CIA/CPA or working toward certification.
• Proficiency with Alteryx, Tableau, or Microsoft SQL.
• Understanding of industry audit frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk-based audit projects from planning through reporting to stakeholders.
• Coordinate interviews and walkthroughs with client personnel to evaluate control design and identify areas of risk.
• Lead execution and documentation of tests that validate control effectiveness.
• Develop and utilize data analytic tools to generate insights and inform the audit approach.
• Ensure audits are completed within agreed timelines according to department methodology.
