Job summary

Regions Financial Corporation in Birmingham, AL seeks a Senior Auditor to perform internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing. You will develop audit programs, plan procedures, and coordinate with audit teams to ensure quality and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field and at least three years in internal or external audit or risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Risk, or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in internal audit, external audit, banking, or risk management/compliance.
• Certified or progression toward relevant certifications is preferred (e.g., CAMS, CBA, CIA, CPA).

Responsibilities

• Develops initial audit program to meet the audit engagement objectives with some supervision.
• Plans the nature, timing, and extent of engagement procedures.
• Develops project timeline to align with the internal audit annual plan.
• Reviews work performed by audit team to ensure documentation aligns with methodology.
• Ensures audit conclusions are fully supported in work papers.
• Coaches internal audit staff throughout the engagement.
• Drafts audit issues using established criteria.
• Discusses audit findings with management as directed by audit leadership.
• Follows-up on management remediation actions and identifies process improvements.
