Job summary

Wertz & Associates in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Auditor to take on greater ownership of engagements, direct client interaction, and leadership responsibilities within a collaborative, growth-focused CPA firm.

You will lead audit engagements, mentor junior staff, and ensure compliance with GAAS and SSARS while expanding your technical expertise and client base in the St. Louis market.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's a plus)
• 2–4 years of public accounting audit experience
• CPA or CPA-eligible with plans to obtain licensure
• Strong understanding of GAAP, GAAS, and audit procedures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines

Responsibilities

• Leading and executing key components of audit and assurance engagements
• Performing audit procedures in higher-risk and complex areas
• Preparing and reviewing audit documentation and workpapers
• Communicating directly with clients and serving as a day-to-day point of contact
• Supervising and mentoring junior staff during engagements
• Assisting with planning, execution, and completion of audits in accordance with GAAS and SSARS
