Job summary

TrovaTal in New York is seeking a Senior Auditor to join our National CPA Firm's Audit & Assurance team. This client-facing role collaborates with senior leaders to deliver audit, assurance, and accounting services to a diverse client base.

The position requires 2-3+ years of public accounting audit experience, CPA preferred, and a hybrid schedule in NYC. You will lead audits, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with GAAP and auditing standards, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 2-3+ years of recent public accounting audit experience.
• CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and generally accepted auditing standards.
• Ability to travel up to 20-25% annually.
• Hybrid schedule in the New York City office.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients regularly to coordinate and execute a range of audit and assurance activities.
• Participate in the planning, fieldwork, and completion of audit engagements.
• Perform substantive testing and analysis of client balance sheets, income statements, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and review financial statements, workpapers, and audit documentation for accuracy and compliance with professional standards.
• Assist with engagement budgets, timelines, expenses, and staff allocation.
• Supervise and guide junior audit staff throughout engagements.
• Identify areas of audit risk and develop appropriate audit procedures and recommendations.
• Provide guidance to clients as it relates to audit findings, accounting standards, and best practices.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and engagement teams throughout the audit process.
