Job summary

The Harris County Auditor's Office, through the Harris Health Internal Audit (HHIA) team, seeks a Senior Auditor to strengthen accountability and improve operational effectiveness across Harris Health facilities and the jail healthcare system.

Under the Audit Manager, you will plan engagements, evaluate processes and controls, prepare workpapers to IIA Yellow Book standards, draft actionable findings, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with client leadership in a hybrid, on-site schedule

Qualifications

• 3–5 years healthcare industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related subject.
• Professional certification (CIA, CPA, CHIAP, CISA or CFE) preferred; CIA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan engagements with risks, scope, objectives, and procedures.
• Evaluate internal controls and compliance with policies and regulations (CMS, HIPAA).
• Prepare workpapers per IIA/Yellow Book standards.
• Draft audit findings and actionable recommendations.
• Coordinate with client leadership and maintain on-site relationships.
