The State of South Carolina Department of Insurance is seeking entry‑level Senior Auditors/Analysts to evaluate the financial strength of insurers operating in SC. No prior experience is required; training will be provided.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, insurance, risk management or related field, with coursework in accounting/auditing. Opportunities include professional development and potential salary advancement upon certification attainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance, Risk Management or related field with coursework in accounting/auditing.
• Preferred coursework or experience in accounting or auditing.
• 1–3 years of financial analysis experience.
• Progress toward CPA, CFE, ARe, or CPCU certifications encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate financial strength and solvency of insurers operating in South Carolina.
• Review statutory and GAAP financial statements.
• Assess risks and identify solvency concerns.
• Analyze financial statements, audited reports, actuarial opinions, holding company filings, NAIC tools and financial indicators.
