Job summary

Agricultural Marketing Service is seeking a qualified professional to enforce provisions of the Packers and Stockyards Act, coordinating investigative work, surveillance, and related tasks for the largest operations in the national livestock, meat, and poultry sectors.

The role requires time-in-grade compliance and a specialized accounting/auditing background with appropriate education or credentials, and experience in financial reporting practices and investigations.

Qualifications

• Time-in-grade requirement for promotion (52 weeks at next lower grade).
• Graduate degree or combination of education and experience with 24 semester hours in accounting or auditing.
• Experience advising on financial reporting practices and coordinating investigations.

Responsibilities

• Advise on financial reporting practices to ensure compliance.
• Develop investigative procedures, techniques, and work plans for investigations of complaints in the livestock, meat, and poultry industries.
• Coordinate and conduct investigations of firms in the livestock, meat, and poultry industries and present findings to management.
