Job summary

UHY-US is seeking an Audit Senior Staff Accountant in New York to plan and execute attestation engagements in accordance with applicable accounting standards. You will work closely with clients and leaders to deliver high-quality work while developing supervisory skills for the Senior level.

The role involves planning and performing audits, testing controls, analyzing financial statements, and communicating findings to clients. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant audit experience.
• Experience in a professional service environment preferred.
• Actively working towards CPA licensure or relevant certification.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning and preparation of audit engagements under guidance of senior team members.
• Execute audit procedures, including testing of controls, substantive testing, and analytical procedures.
• Document work performed, findings, and conclusions clearly.
• Evaluate internal control systems and develop recommendations to enhance internal controls and efficiency.
• Collaborate with client personnel to obtain information and maintain professional client relationships.
• Stay updated on accounting and auditing standards and conduct technical research as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of audit reports and supporting workpapers.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field

CPA licensure (preferred) or active pursuit
