Job summary

Grinding Rock CPAs & Advisors is seeking an Audit Senior Associate to lead fieldwork across audit and attestation engagements, with a primary focus on tribal governments and tribal enterprises, and state and local governments.

The role requires strong technical audit skills, supervision of junior staff, and collaboration with clients to ensure timely, accurate work products within complex funding and reporting requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3–5+ years of public accounting audit experience.
• Strong experience performing financial statement audit fieldwork and preparing documentation.
• Experience with tribal governments or government audits is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead day-to-day audit fieldwork for financial statements and attestation engagements.
• Execute testing in high-risk and complex audit areas.
• Prepare and review workpapers, schedules, and audit documentation.
• Supervise associates and interns and provide feedback.
• Communicate with client finance teams to obtain documentation and resolve questions.
