Responsibilities

1. Provide timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds expectations, including coordinating day-to-day accounting responsibilities such as journal entry preparation, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliations.
2. Conduct year-end close procedures and prepare audit schedules for the year-end audit.
3. Assist clients in facilitating the year-end audit.
4. Supervise staff under the supervision of a manager and act as an in-charge, monitoring and reporting on productivity and adherence to work plans.
5. Anticipate and address client concerns and escalate issues as they arise.
6. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.

Your Skills and Qualifications

1. BS/BA Degree in Accounting or an equivalent degree.
2. 2+ years of recent experience in a government agency or public accounting firm specializing in government auditing and accounting.
3. Understanding of accounting services with knowledge of GASB and government financial reporting.
4. Experience performing bank reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, capital asset accounting, purchasing, and budget development.
5. Willingness to accept supervision and guidance.
