Job summary

Hawkins Ash CPAs in Rochester, MN is hiring a Senior Audit Associate to support a diverse client base with audits, reviews, and other attest services. You will plan engagements, supervise junior staff, and contribute to service delivery across schools, nonprofits, municipalities, and commercial entities.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting or finance with CPA eligibility, 2–5 years of related experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or CPA eligibility preferred.
• Two to five years of similar or related experience.
• Exceptional communication and strong multi-tasking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and accounting software packages.
• Ability to work extended hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Perform audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures for schools, not-for-profit entities, municipalities, and commercial entities.
• Plan engagements, perform fieldwork, prepare financial statements and required reports for management and regulating agencies, perform other non-audit accounting services, and prepare tax returns (if applicable).
• Travel to/from engagements, including some overnight travel as needed.
• Familiarize yourself with and use the firm's research tools.
• Prepare and review Form 990s.
• Support the growth of co-workers through answering questions on teaching firm policy, accounting procedures, and software.
• Supervise associates on engagement teams and function as an in-charge, monitoring productivity and adherence to work plan schedules.

What you’ll do:
