LHH is assisting a public accounting firm in searching for a Senior Audit Associate. The Senior Audit Associate reports to the Audit Manager and is responsible for managing client engagements and projects to completion of engagement tasks and components. This position is remote but requires accessibility to Northbrook, Illinois.

Responsibilities:

• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring the success of each project.
• Build strong relationships with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and promote products or services.
• Document work for each engagement.
• Identify, communicate, and resolve engagement and technical issues; communicate progress.
• Prepare financial statements, footnote disclosures, and management letter comments.
• Develop audit programs, procedures, budgets, and engagement letters.
• Establish work schedules using effective project management techniques.
• Research and analyze financial statement and audit-related issues.
• Review and prepare Form 990 and related tax returns.
• Supervise, mentor, and train Audit Associates.

Experience & Skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting; CPA certification or working towards it preferred.
• 3+ years of audit experience in a public accounting firm.
• Knowledge of Form 990 and related tax returns.
• Knowledge of GAAP, auditing standards, internal controls, and procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software such as QuickBooks, ProSystem fx Tax, Engagement, and GoFileRoom.
• Strong project management, organizational, and attention to detail skills.
• Analytical, technical, and research skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Commitment to completing engagements thoroughly.
