Job summary

Prosperity Partners, a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm, seeks a Senior Audit Associate to support our growing audit practice in New York. You will lead audit assignments, supervise fieldwork, and prepare papers and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

The role requires 4–8 years in public accounting audits, strong GAAP knowledge, and experience with financial services clients. Office presence is required at least 2 days per week, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA certification preferred.
  • 4–8 years of public accounting audit experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
  • Experience with financial services clients (broker-dealers, hedge funds, private equity) a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with audit software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements, priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior staff preferred.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Availability to work in the office at least 2 days per week.

Senior Audit Associate

Prosperity Partners (“Prosperity”) is a Chicago-headquartered professional services firm offering best-in-class tax, accounting, transaction advisory and personal finance services to dynamic businesses, high net-worth individuals, and family offices. With offices throughout the United States and private equity backing, Prosperity is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Audit Associate with 4-8 years of experience to support our rapidly growing audit practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of audit assignments in accordance with firm policies and relevant regulations;
  • Perform and supervise fieldwork, including testing of internal controls, substantive testing, and documentation of audit findings;
  • Prepare and review working papers and financial statements in compliance with GAAP;
  • Assist in identifying and resolving accounting, auditing, and reporting issues;
  • Collaborate with clients and engagement teams to identify areas for improvement in processes and internal controls;
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to Audit Associates and interns;
  • Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and discuss audit findings;
  • Stay current with accounting and auditing standards, as well as industry trends;
  • Support the preparation and presentation of audit reports and recommendations to management and senior client personnel;
  • Contribute to the firm’s commitment to high-quality client service and continuous improvement.
