Job summary

Boyum Barenscheer, a trusted Minnesota accounting firm with 50 years of experience, is seeking an Audit Senior Accountant. You will apply your technical foundation to lead complex engagements, mentor staff, and contribute to firm initiatives.

You will collaborate across departments, manage engagement timelines, and maintain strong client relationships while staying current with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Active CPA licensure preferred.
• 4+ years of public accounting experience, with at least 1 year leading engagements.
• Must be a member in good standing with the AICPA and MNCPA.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Leads audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures.
• Reviews financial reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Assesses internal controls and provides improvement recommendations.
• Prepares engagement letters and fee structures.
• Manages budgets and timelines to ensure profitable engagements.
• Ensures compliance with FASB, AICPA, GAAP, and APB standards.
• Mentors staff and participates in firm initiatives.
• Collaborates across departments to meet client needs.
• Keeps Partners and Managers informed of significant developments.
• Oversees billing and fee collection.
