Job description

Allegheny Science & Technology (AST) is currently seeking an SeniorAudio / Visual Technician to support telecommunications initiatives for an FBI customer. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of A/V room systems in secure enterprise environments. An active Top Secret clearance is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Travel to various locations to install and troubleshoot A/V systems
  • Provide Tier 3/4 support for A/V device installation and troubleshooting across all enterprise enclaves
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain A/V room systems; provide break/fix support as needed
  • Troubleshoot PC-related issues, including audio and video connectivity
  • Coordinate and schedule activities with the Audio Video Support Center (AVSC)

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret (TS) Clearance: Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance and be eligible for access to classified networks such as SIPRNet and JWICS

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret clearance required. Must be eligible for access to classified networks such as SIPRNet and JWICS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, Engineering, or a related field; Additional experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree
  • Minimum 8 years of professional A/V systems experience, including:
    • Design, installation, integration, and maintenance of commercial and government-grade AV systems
    • Hands-on experience with VTC platforms (Cisco, Polycom, Microsoft Teams Rooms, ZoomGov)
    • Operation of secure conferencing environments (classified and unclassified)
    • Experience supporting streaming video, live broadcast events, digital signage, and video capture solutions
  • Experience evaluating and implementing new AV technologies and recommending upgrades or enhancements

Required Certifications (at least one or more from the following):

  • AVIXA CTS or CTS-I/CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist)
    • Industry standard for A/V integration professionals
  • Crestron DM-NVX or Crestron Programmer Certification
    • For work involving system programming and room control integration
  • For audio DSP configuration and system optimization
  • Dante Level 2 or Level 3 Certification
    • For advanced audio-over-IP (AoIP) deployments
  • CompTIA Security+ or similar (if supporting secure systems or aligning with DoD 8570 requirements)

Functional Skill Requirements:

  • Proficient in AV system signal flow, networked AV systems, and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Familiar with government facility AV configurations, including SCIF-compliant setups
  • Experience in documenting system layouts, updating asset inventory, and following SOPs for ticket management and configuration baselines
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards and hardening practices for government IT/AV systems

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is $101,213 - $139,006.
