Amazon's Devices and Services group in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist- Audio to advance Echo audio capabilities, including spatial audio and home theater integration. You will lead innovation from concept to productization, shaping the future of music experiences.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry or academic research experience.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++, or experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Experience in written and oral communication, including the ability to communicate with all levels in the organization (technical, business, executive).
• Proven track record in commercializing innovative audio (music processing especially in spatial audio) algorithms.
• Passion for high fidelity music rendering and skilled in critical listening.
• Expert knowledge in music signal processing theory and applications—filter design optimization, limiter/compressor, dynamic range compression, up mixing, binaural rendering etc
• Proficient with real-time audio programming in C/C++ and Python/Matlab

Responsibilities

• Be the champion of Echo music processing technology innovation from ideation, proof of concept to productization.
• Propose new research projects, get buy-in from stakeholders, and lead the team for successful execution.
• Work closely with an inter-disciplinary product development team including outside partners to bring the prototype algorithm into commercialization.
• Be a team leader in an open and collaborative environment.
