The Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG) seeks a qualified attorney to provide legal counsel and representation to its departments, boards, and officials. The role requires drafting pleadings, contracts, and opinions, and representing LFUCG in state and federal courts.
Minimum qualifications include a Juris Doctor and two years of related experience. The position is exempt, not eligible for overtime, with a compensatory time program. Filing deadline is Sept. 8, 2026.

The purpose of this classification is to provide legal counsel and advice to the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Government (LFUCG), its departments, divisions, boards, officials, and employees, and to represent the organization in litigation, negotiations and other matters where legal counsel is required.
Must be a member of the Kentucky Bar Association
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
