Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks an Athletic Trainer to provide comprehensive care including prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletes at assigned locations.

Responsibilities include on-site coverage at practices and events, documenting care, educating patients and families, and coordinating with physicians for optimal outcomes. Travel within 50 miles is required; Bachelor’s in Athletic Training is essential, with a Master’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited program.
• 2 years experience in the clinical setting.
• Knowledge base of normal anatomy, physiology, body’s response to exercise, and nutrition.
• Knowledge base of musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and psychological demands placed on the injured athlete.
• Knowledge base of compliance plans, HIPAA, and quality assurance programs.
• Computer literate with practice management software, electronic health records, and Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel within 50 miles of assigned partner location.
• AT/ATL/BLS credentials required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations of injuries and illnesses with assessment, examination, and diagnosis.
• Provide onsite medical coverage during practices, games, and events.
• Deliver immediate and emergency medical care for athletes and patients.
• Design and adjust individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
• Deliver interventions including therapeutic exercise and manual therapy per physician guidance.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatments, and interactions.
• Educate athletes, patients, families, and coaches on injury prevention and rehab expectations.
• Assist with seasonal sports physicals.
