Job summary

Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) is seeking a Senior Groundskeeper for Athletics to maintain district grounds and athletic fields. The role reports to the Ground Crew Chief / Athletic Grounds Foreman and requires a Texas Operator’s License, physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and 260 duty days.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with responsibilities including operating tractors and grounds maintenance equipment, carrying gear for long shifts, and addressing hazardous

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• May be assigned to regular grounds crew, athletic grounds crew, tractor driver or landscaping.
• Operate tractor and power driven grounds maintenance equipment.
• Must be able to carry grounds maintenance equipment for eight hours.
• Perform duties as assigned with hand tools for grounds maintenance.
• Advise Grounds Crew Chief/Athletic Grounds Foreman of any hazardous situations they notice while working on school grounds.
• Remove hazardous objects from grounds while performing their duties, such as broken glass, etc.
