Job summary

Whittlesey in Hartford, CT, is seeking a Senior Assurance Associate to join our Assurance team in a hybrid role that blends office collaboration with client-site work, and emphasizes flexible scheduling.

You will prepare audit documentation for complex assignments, apply industry-specific accounting knowledge to solve problems and meet deadlines, provide feedback to associates and interns, and help guide projects to timely completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university.
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA license.
• 150 credit hours for CPA certification or actively pursuing.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear audit documentation for advanced assignments.
• Apply in-depth accounting knowledge to solve problems and meet client deadlines.
• Provide timely feedback to associates and interns during audits to support development.
• Set and articulate goals, identifying milestones for personal advancement within the Firm.
• Collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment, communicating regularly to meet deadlines.
• Review the work of associates and interns to ensure compliance and progress to the engagement team.

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Assurance Associate to join our Assurance team. This position is a hybrid position. What you will be doing

• Prepare clear, well-structured audit documentation for advanced assignments, ensuring the execution of high-quality audits.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of industry-specific accounting to solve problems and meet client deadlines using appropriate audit procedures.
• Provide timely feedback to associates and interns through regular meetings during and after audits to support their professional development.
• Set and articulate goals, identifying milestones for personal advancement within the Firm while maintaining strong performance.
• Collaborate effectively in a hybrid work environment, communicating regularly with peers and management to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Review the work of associates and interns to ensure compliance with audit procedures and documentation, while proactively identifying issues and progress to the engagement team.

What you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college or university and/or equivalent years of experience.
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA license.
• 150 credit hours for CPA certification or actively pursuing.
• Minimum two years of experience in tax compliance.
• Must possess a valid state Driver’s License.
