Alvarez & Marsal Deutschland GmbH seeks a Senior Associate to join the Private Equity Performance Improvement Group in Dallas, TX. The role focuses on financial modeling, liquidity optimization, and strategic analytics to deliver value for PE portfolio companies. Travel up to 30% may be required.
Ideal candidates have a master’s in finance/accounting and 2+ years of accounting/auditing experience, with proficiency in US GAAP/IFRS, and data visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI.
Work alongside other A&M professionals on the CFO Services team on complex assignments to help private equity held portfolio companies and provide clients with solutions to preserve and generate value for their businesses. Improve transparency to key drivers and business performance, support increasing cash and EBITDA, and provide benefits through hands-on involvement in clients’ operations. Support PE firms to ensure their portfolio companies have credible plans and the ability to execute and deliver financial outcomes. Responsible for providing a pillar of services including: Liquidity & Working Capital Optimization, Strategic Analytics & Planning, Performance Measurement & Management, Business Transformation, and Auxiliary Services such as Accounting Remediation. Develop information requests based on specific project scope, lead client interviews, and gather meaningful data. Identify information gaps through trend analysis and pattern recognition. Improve management reporting and develop reliable and transparent forecasting. Develop storyline messages and ensure data and branding standards flow accurately and consistently throughout the presentation. Review and provide inputs to all work products and ensure client deliverables are presented logically and accurately. Develop financial models including three statement forecasts and liquidity forecasting. Develop solutions with creative approaches and promote a team environment with diverse ideas and opinions. Share knowledge and coach teammates to develop the ability to build various financial models and provide insightful analyses. Understand the impacts to profit and balance sheet stemming from impacts to key operating levers. Domestic travel up to approx. 30% of time.
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting, and minimum 2 years [or bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent as stated above and 5 years] of Accounting or Auditing experience. Must have experience working with the following: technical accounting and financial reporting including US GAAP and IFRS; developing and evaluating complex financial models including budgets, forecasts, valuations, integrated three-statement models including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, and liquidity models including 13-week cash flows; conducting financial statement analysis, internal controls, risk assessment, and the financial close process; performing financial and operational data analysis of large datasets to identify and assess key performance metrics; performing financial reconciliations and investigating rationale behind variances with budgets, forecasts and prior period performance; and building financial dashboards using data visualization tools including Tableau and Power BI.
