Job summary

KPMG LLP in Dallas is seeking a Senior Associate to join our Trade and Customs practice. You will provide advice on import/export matters, conduct research on U.S. and international trade, and help develop strategies for trade savings.

The role supports multiple client engagements, develops junior staff, and requires travel domestically and internationally. Strong communication and integrity are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of import/export experience in trade and customs.
• Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, or MST; professional tax certifications preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Office including Access, Excel.
• Demonstrated project management with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Provide advice to clients in a variety of industries on import and export matters
• Research U.S. and international import and export trade matters
• Explore, write, and review international trade advice
• Formulate ideas and deliver possible trade savings opportunities
• Aid in the development and training of team members
• Assist in the delivery of multiple client engagements on time and within budget; maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations and satisfaction
• Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years of recent import/export experience in the field of trade and customs as a customs attorney, customs broker, U.S. Customs auditor, or import specialist, which will include experience in The Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes, valuation, and informed compliance methods
• Bachelor's degree, J.D., LL.M. in taxation, and/or Masters in Taxation (MST) from an accredited college/university; LCB or other relevant trade certification preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications including Access, Excel, and more
• Demonstrated project management experience including effective interpersonal skills, good written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally
