Brunswick Group is seeking an Associate to join our fast-paced Chicago office, contributing to client insights, strategic communications and media relations. You will mentor junior staff, manage account teams and draft critical client documents, ensuring timely, high-impact deliverables.

The role emphasizes developing and executing plans across multiple accounts, coordinating with Partners and Directors, and maintaining strong journalist and stakeholder networks.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years of relevant work experience in a related field.
• Energetic team player with strong self-motivation.
• Ability to operate with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Deep understanding of business, finance and markets.
• Capability to understand multiple stakeholder positions and incorporate that understanding into strategy and messaging for the client.
• Ability to rapidly learn new sectors and companies, and operate with imperfect information.
• Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and think strategically and creatively.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication ability, including on complex issues.
• Experience managing teams and passionate about mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Providing insight, guidance and advice to clients across industries.
• Advising clients to effectively communicate at critical moments.
• Developing and executing plans to advocate the client's point of view to the media, employees and other critical stakeholders.
• Managing and mentoring team members; working with Partners and Directors on the day-to-day management of staff and client deliverables.
• Actively and effectively managing account teams and driving day-to-day activities for multiple accounts at a time.
• Managing the development of key client documents by drafting, editing and routing documents through review processes.
• Overseeing research assignments on fast-moving situations with tight deadlines; distilling information into impactful points.
• Planning and executing client announcements and events, including talking points, Q&A, day-of rollouts, media backgrounders, etc.
• Active networking with clients, potential clients, analyst and investor communities, journalist contacts and financial/legal advisors.
