Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Colorado Springs is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and test mission-critical software for defense programs. You will contribute to the full SDLC, write code in JavaScript, Python, Java, and collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineers on integrated solutions.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience, or more, and must be eligible for a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software applications and systems in support of program requirements

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active US Secret security clearance preferred
• Experience with at least one programming language such as C++, Python, or Java
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git or Subversion (SVN)
• Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools or software modeling
• Experience working within a defense or government contracting environment
• Knowledge of software security practices and secure coding standards
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Experience with automated testing frameworks or test-driven development (TDD)

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado state is $74,500-$138,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
