Job summary

L3Harris is recruiting for an Associate, Software Engineer in San Diego, CA. You will contribute to embedded software development for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment, working with a broad language stack across Windows, Linux, and RTOS environments.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams through the SDLC, develop test procedures, and participate in peer reviews. A CS-related Bachelor's degree or recent graduation is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or related field, within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Apply CS, engineering and math concepts to software development for target application.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design interfaces between hardware and software.
• Support all phases of SDLC for embedded software in real-time control of tactical radio equipment.
• Develop test procedures and documentation for software.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data and evaluate results.
• Participate in peer reviews and address defects.

Job Description

• Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target application
• Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software, and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
• Support andparticipatein all phases of the software development life cycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, and test of embedded software for real-time control of advanced tactical radio equipment
• Develop software test procedures, software programs, and related documentation
• Utilize modeling tools and equipment toestablishoperating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results
• Participate in peer reviews,identify, track and repair defects
• Utilize a variety of software languages (i.e., C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt) on Windows, Linux, mobile platforms, and embedded real time operating systems (VxWorks, Linux, QNX, Integrity, Windows CE, and others for Motorola, Intel, TI, and custom processor designs)

Qualifications

• To be eligible, applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences or related field or have completed their Bachelor's degree within the last 12 months, regardless of age.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is $75,500 - $140,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3Harris also offers a variety of benefits, including health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company-paid holidays.
