Job summary

Sigma-Aldrich Manufacturing LLC is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist – Process Development in the St. Louis area. You will work on developing manufacturing processes, interpret data, and support GMP transfers under SME guidance.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and 2 years of relevant chemist experience, with hands-on work in UPLC, RP-HPLC, SEC, HIC and IEX; strong data analytics and rigorous documentation are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related field and 2 years as a Chemist or similar.
• Experience with separation science and data interpretation in GMP contexts.
• Experience with protein analytics, spectroscopy, and modern data acquisition systems.
• Experience with method development for GMP Analytics; years may be concurrent.

Responsibilities

• Communicate experimental results according to company policy.
• Deliver data in a timely manner and support process improvements.
• Contribute to manufacturing process development and transfer to GMP.
• Execute and troubleshoot experiments with SME guidance.
• Document results and ensure compliance during transfer to GMP.
• Independently manage daily activities and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Communicate experimental results according to company policy;
• Deliver data in a timely manner;
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives within team;
• Execute and troubleshoot experiments with guidance from subject matter experts;
• Document and communicate experimental results and contribute to manufacturing process development;
• Deliver data in a timely manner and ensure documents are compliant with transfer to GMP; and
• Independently manage daily activities and process improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications

Employer requires candidate to have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a closely related field and two (2) years of work experience as a Chemist or closely related occupation. Candidate must also have the following:

• Demonstrated knowledge of separation science including the operation and data interpretation of UPLC, RP-HPLC, SEC, HIC and/or IEX gained through two (2) years of work experience;
• Demonstrated ability with protein analytics and spectroscopy, including UV and slope gained through two (2) years of work experience;
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern data acquisition systems and electronic notebooks gained through two (2) years of work experience;
• Demonstrated knowledge of method development for GMP Analytics gained through two (2) years of work experience. All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

Salary: Seventy-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-Six to Ninety-Nine Thousand Four Hundred Fifty-Six dollars per year.

Compensation is based on experience, location, and other factors. We offer generous benefits packages.
