Job summary

Mars Incorporated in Thompson's Station, TN, is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to support, plan, and execute laboratory projects for regional and global R&D teams. You will conduct physical and chemical analyses on raw materials and finished products with emphasis on front end innovation and ingredient characterization.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate scientific insights, and help develop analytical methods to meet evolving technical and business needs.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years in a laboratory setting with physical/functional characterization.
• Experience with food analysis methods including GC-MS, LC-MS, GC-O.
• Strong record-keeping and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytics on ingredients and finished products to determine physical and chemical characteristics.
• Record results and present data using ELN to R&D stakeholders.
• Consult with R&D scientists and technical partners; design test protocols and report data.
• Lead or support development, validation and implementation of new analytical methods.
