Job description

Step into a pivotal role on the trading floor, where your expertise in trading services can drive impactful results. As a Senior Associate, you'll lead a team that supports the dynamic Public Finance Trading desk, offering you a platform for career growth and development within Middle Office and beyond. As a Senior Associate in Markets Operations, you will manage a team of four colleagues, providing essential support to the Public Finance Trading division. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of trading activities, from transaction booking to settlement. Job Responsibilities
  1. Manage a team overseeing daily support to the Public Finance Trading division.
  2. Build an in-depth understanding of end to end trading flows to provide enhancement opportunities.
  3. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and understanding of Public Finance Secondary Market Products (Municipal Bonds, Commercial Paper, Tender Option Bonds, VRDBs, MMI, Treasuries, etc).
  4. Supervise the entire trade lifecycle from booking to settlement.
  5. Ensure compliance with key regulatory rules impacting business workflows (MSRB Rules G-34, G-12, G-32 amongst others).
  6. Complete front to back reconciliation checks and verify trade positions.
  7. Investigate and resolve queries from key stakeholders across the organization.
  8. Produce accurate management statistics for supervisory oversight.
  9. Drive operations and business projects, including automation and new system/workflow implementations.
  10. Facilitate cross-organizational communication to identify real-time risk issues.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  1. Three years of experience in Public Finance Trading in a middle office or relevant role.
  2. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
  3. Collaboration with Front Office as well as Business and Operations partners alike (e.g. Technology, Settlements, Compliance, Product Control, Business Management).
  4. Strong knowledge of Tradeweb, MarketAxess, DTC, Euroclear, FedWire, Bloomberg, and reporting requirements.
  5. Logical and analytical mindset with awareness of market and industry trends.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills with attention to detail.
  7. Ability to manage a team, providing mentorship and guidance.
  8. Challenge processes and controls.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  1. Technical skills in Python, SQL, Alteryx, and additional programming languages.
  2. Understanding of the Primary/Syndicate market.
  3. Desire to grow within Middle Office as an organizational leader.
