Job summary

The New York State Office of Mental Health seeks an Associate Psychologist to provide professional psychological services under the clinical supervision of a Licensed Psychologist. The role involves assessment, treatment, and opportunities for clinical leadership and program management across diverse areas.

Duties include forensic or court-ordered work, specialized assessments, crisis intervention, and training others.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in psychology with clinical focus.
• One year pre-doctoral clinical internship OR one year supervised experience under a licensed psychologist.
• Eligibility for transfer to a competitive class position if already in NY State service (Section 70.1).

Responsibilities

• Provide professional psychological services under clinical supervision.
• Perform assessment and treatment, clinical leadership, program management.
• Forensic or court-ordered assessment or testimony; specialized psychological interventions.
• Supervise staff and contribute to training and peer review.
