Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Mason, OH seeks a Senior Associate, Production Planning to manage material flow and production schedules for IPT projects. You will coordinate with Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering and Logistics to ensure timely supply of parts and accurate work orders.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with several years of relevant experience, proficiency in ERP systems (Costpoint) and MS Office. Occasional overtime and no travel are expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, issue and control production and coordinate material requirements.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control and logistics.
• Expedite flow of materials, parts, and assemblies to meet project schedules and milestones.
• Support the master production schedule and shop workload with proper material availability.
• Identify risks and opportunities regarding material availability and adjust plans accordingly.

Job Description

Plans, prepares, issues and controls production and coordinates material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet project demand. Advises team on the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential problems to ensure that equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Confirms material supply and demands and prepares work orders for components based on the project demand. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc. to achieve project timelines. Work as part of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) as required to support schedule changes. Provide part planning and inventory control parameters to the control system for make items. Expedites flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with project schedules. Determine shortages and initiate action to correct these deficiencies. Contribute suggestions toward the continuous improvement of systems and procedures.

Essential Functions

• Requires practical knowledge of job area.
• Ability to learn the WMS system (Costpoint) and process transactions electronically and physically to ensure overall inventory accuracy. Manage ERP inputs to ensure overall inventory accuracy
• Manage inventory levels for direct and indirect materials
• Communicate status and needs with cross functional teams including various internal and external customers (i.e. Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, etc.)
• Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that materials are provided as needed to achieve milestone completions.
• Coordinate the production material to support the master production schedule, shop workload and inventory requirements.
• Utilize prior experience to identify risks and opportunities regarding material availability to ensure success of the production plan and maintain finish date integrity.
• Manage multiple projects with varying complexity to completion.
• Schedule and expedite the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders.
• Works under minimal direction and guidance within standard processes.
• No travel required, occasional overtime hours required

Qualifications

Preferred Additional Skills

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
• Aerospace or AS9100 experience
• Familiarization with control of GFM (Government Furnished Materials) and CFM (Customer Furnished Materials)
• Experience with Lean and/or Electronic Manufacturing
• APICS Certification
