Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Associate, Production Planning for our Palm Bay, FL site. You will manage production planning across fiber optics, mechanical, Electrical and electro-optic manufacturing, coordinating multiple program builds.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination. Security clearance TS/SCI with poly is required; experience with MES/PLM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required. 2+ years related experience; or graduate degree with 0–2 years. In lieu of a degree, 6+ years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the production cycle to meet requirements.
• Uses engineering plans and specs to ensure materials align with schedules.
• Advises management on work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, engineering and program management.
• Ensures materials and labor availability to meet production and delivery commitments; resolves shortages and backlogs.
• Familiarity with MES and PLM tools; plans multiple product builds for multiple programs.
• Act as liaison with material management as primary cross-functional hardware team rep.
• Organizes and manages large quantities of hardware and maintains stock.
• Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Production Planning to join our growing team at our Palm Bay location for our Space and Missions Systems segment. This person will work through production with fiber optics, mechanical, electrical, and electro-optic manufacturing processes and simultaneously plan multiple product builds for multiple programs.

Essential Functions:

• Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
• Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
• Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems and Product Lifecycle Management tools.
• Familiarity with hardware manufacturing processes and able to simultaneously plan multiple product builds for multiple programs.
• Act as a liaison with material management as the primary representative of the cross-functional hardware team.
• Ability to organize and manage large amounts of hardware and keep stock under control.
• Must be able to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
• Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI with poly US Government security clearance.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active TS/SCI
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, and control, preferably in a manufacturing environment related to hardware such as fiber optics assemblies, electronics or circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
• Familiarity with fiber optics assemblies
• Familiarity with the CCA manufacturing process
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing operational efficiency.
• Proficiency with production planning software and systems, such as MES and PLM systems.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to analyze production data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
