Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Production Planning for our Carlsbad, CA location. This role will manage production planning for multiple programs across fiber optics, electronics, and hardware manufacturing, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to keep builds on schedule.

Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Senior Associate, Production Planning to join our growing team at our Carlsbad location for our Space and Missions Systems segment. This person will work through production with fiber optics, mechanical, electrical, and electro-optic manufacturing processes and simultaneously plan multiple product builds for multiple programs.

Essential Functions:

• Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle to meet production requirements.
• Works from engineering plans and production specifications to ensure materials are provided according to schedules.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, coordinates with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain and interfaces with engineering and program management as well as external customers.
• Ensures availability of materials and labor to meet production requirements and delivery commitments. Works to resolve labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
• Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems and Product Lifecycle Management tools.
• Familiarity with hardware manufacturing processes and able to simultaneously plan multiple product builds for multiple programs.
• Act as a liaison with material management as the primary representative of the cross-functional hardware team.
• Ability to organize and manage large amounts of hardware and keep stock under control.
• Must be able to maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
• Must to obtain a TS/SCI with poly US Government security clearance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active TS/SCI with Poly
• Experience in production planning, scheduling, and control, preferably in a manufacturing environment related to hardware such as fiber optics assemblies, electronics or circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
• Familiarity with fiber optics assemblies
• Familiarity with the CCA manufacturing process
• Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing operational efficiency.
• Proficiency with production planning software and systems, such as MES and PLM systems.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to analyze production data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California is $60,000 - $112,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
